Backseat - Digital Painting

This is a digital painting I created when, like the title suggests, I was in the backseat of the car. It was one of those typical car rides along Highway 99, one that I had gone on numerous times. I decided to have an impromptu drawing session right there and then! Using a neutral brown colors, I sketched out the general shapes in front of me. There's a feeling of normality yet instability with the wispy brushstrokes. The sketch allows for the routine, yet authentic moment to be truly portrayed. The greatest challenge I had with this piece was stopping myself from erasing the stray lines! It really was a bumpy ride- evident through the line art.
