For the past few weeks, my group and I have been working on an experimental film about the fear of growing up. In the film, we use the symbol of the blanket to represent the main character's childhood comforts. The inspiration for this project comes from both Catherine and my feelings about our senior year. It's a bitter sweet time, being at a major milestone in our life and we decided to exemplify this confusion through this film.

The past two weekends have been spent filming at Hattie Zhang and Catherine Mao's homes. So far, we are done filming with the exception of some shots to aid comprehension. The next few days will be dedicated to compiling the clips together and finishing the rough cut. Below, is a picture of the lighting set up that we used for our stop-motion animation. After setting up the 2 LED lights, we realized they were not enough to achieve the uniform lighting that we needed. That did not deter us, we simply improvised by grabbing any source of light we could find at Hattie's home. After the entire room was lit, we realized we had accumulated seven different sources of light!

Below is a picture of me filming the transition shot where Hattie rises from the ground. We used the natural lighting coming from the big window to the left and a LED to the right to lighten up the harsh shadows on Hattie's face.

Lastly, here is a picture of our dolly set up! We decided to use the doorway for the dolly shot because the walls will give great depth of field.
