I created a print of a traditional Chinese dragon in reference of my Chinese heritage. This was an entirely new process for me as I’ve never print made before. With the help and advice of my classmates, I am very proud of the final product. For each print, I used a color scheme of red, gold, yellow, and silver similar to traditional Chinese depictions of a dragon. My class of 2018 was born in 2000 which is also the year of the Dragon which I further classify as part of my identity. On the cover, I wrote my Chinese name, which is pronounced “Dong Wing-Mun,” along with a monochromatic scene of a mountain. The texture created when you lift the lino block from the paper gives depth and interest to the print. In the future, I will definitely experiment more with double and triple prints!

Here are some process pictures of how I assembled the dragon prints!
