I've done a series of ballerinas in a purple and blue dress. This series was mainly for me to explore movement and practice proportions of the female body. When the ballerinas are in motion, it's like the paint captured them in time and it's a theme I want to explore further. I learned many things such as how to delicately imply fingers rather than painting each finger individually. Also, on the later piece (purple), I experimented with the splatter paint technique to add movement into an otherwise plain black background.

In the future, I will look to revise and revisit the blue ballerina so it will enhance the series further!
